| Summary | 0000091: swift-lang will not install, due to outdated dependence on binutils-gold | ||||
| Description | On my Rocky Linux release 8.5 (Green Obsidian), updated via DNF on 2022-05-09, I cannot install the swift-lang package. It depends on a nonexistent package: binutils-gold. The gold linker has been moved into the regular binutils package, so I think swift-lang should only depend on binutils, not binutils-gold. I circumvented the issue with rpm --nodeps -i, and swift appears to work fine with the regular binutils package. | ||||

	Thank you for the report. The swift-lang package is not provided nor built by Rocky. In 8, bintuils does not build a separate binutils-gold package. I would report this issue to EPEL at bugzilla.redhat.com. |
