Summary | 0001882: Endless messages from cupsd "Expiring subscriptions..."
Description | /var/log/messages is full of messages of the above form. RedHat have a "solution" to this (maybe) at https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6214421 but won't allow me to read it. Can anybody tell me what the solution is ? It's also slowing down the whole machine. It's been happening to some extent since upgrading to 9.0, continued at the same low level after upgrading to 9.1 in December, but in the last 5 days has got massively worse. Thanks, Roger.

Closing due to age and 9.1 being end of life. If you are still experiencing this issue, you may want to configure the log level of cups to be something higher like "notice" -- doing so will cause the logs to be less informative, however. If this is unacceptable, you can move the logs to /var/log/cups and rotate them as needed from there to avoid /var/log/messages being filled. |
