Summary | 0000141: Rocky 8.6 breaks products built with Qt 6.2.4 in capturing process output
Description | We are using Qt 6.2.4 compiled from source and noticing the problem close to our release in rocky 8.6 where the QProcess fails to capture the output of the finished process. The code attached demonstrates the issue. This problem is kind of reported in https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-101275 and got closed as a bug in the centos kernel - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2082719 The centos stream has fixed it in kernel-4.18.0-394.el8.x86_64 but the rocky 8.6 ( and RHEL 8.6 ) doesn't have the fix. This case is to update rocky 8.6 when RHEL 8.6 gets released with the fix ( see the update to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2082719#c17 where Troy mentioned they have plans to put it as part of 8.6 )

Thanks for the report. We'll keep this open and follow up to close it when the update comes through. You can keep an eye on package versions flowing through our build system at http://incoming.releng.rockylinux.org/ --Neil |
