| Summary | 0009010: Installing the 'Development Tools' group breaks Gnome on VMs without GPUs | ||||
| Description | I ran a fresh install of Rocky 9.4. After booting the Gnome desktop worked fine. I then ran sudo dnf groupinstall -y 'Development Tools' then rebooted. Gnome will not start after this. I believe the relevant portion of /var/log/messages is this Feb 19 17:41:07 jspa-new gnome-session[1275]: gnome-session-is-accelerated: No hardware 3D support. | Steps To Reproduce | 1. Perform a fresh install of Rocky 9.4 2. Verify that the Gnome desktop works 3. sudo dnf groupinstall -i 'Development Tools' 4. reboot 5. Gnome desktop won't start, login screen shows error | ||||
