Summary | 0000892: Rocky Linux 8.7 Generic Cloud only bootable with UEFI
Description | A rebuild of the generic cloud images are required, as they don't boot UEFI. For some users this is problematic as some platforms default to BIOS boot.

Having pulled apart the image a bit, it looks completely different to the 8.6 one. I _think_ the problem is that there just isn't a grub.conf for the non-UEFI case? |
|
(I should have been clearer, the image does in fact boot, but drops straight to a grub prompt).
Heya, could you give this a try? https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/resf-empanadas/buildimage-8.7-x86_64/Rocky-8-GenericCloud-Base-8.7-20221128.0.x86_64/1669672808/Rocky-8-GenericCloud-Base-8.7-20221128.0.x86_64.qcow2 |
|
No, that exhibits the same behaviour, drops straight to a grub prompt
I apologize for not updating this case. The image has been updated and should now work for UEFI and BIOS boot.
