Descriptionrocky linux 9 installation stop with errors on anaconda screen when installing on hp proliant dl380g7.
I have tried following images:
Rocky-9.0-20220808.0-x86_64-dvd.iso
Rocky-9.0-x86_64-minimal.iso
Rocky-x86_64-boot.iso
all stop with same error.

serverver specifications: BIOS P67 (05/21/2018), cpu 2x Intel Xeon x5690, raid controller p410i, ram 96GB

Steps To Reproduce-attach virtual disk to hp proliant dl380g7 or plug rocky 9.0 usb stick
-boot disk and select "Install Rocky9.0"
-installation start and crash on screen with green line on bottom (attached screenshot)
Additional Informationsuccessful scenarios:
 -on proliant dl380g7 first install rocky linux 8.5 and upgrade to 9.0 with no problems.
- install rocky 9.0 on hp proliant dl580g7 with no problems.

from /var/log there only 2 files boot.log and wtmp, all others are with length 0

I saw the exact same error ("gnome-kiosk exited with status 1") on a couple of my Rocky 9 installs too - I believe one machine was an HP DL380G6, the other a DL380G7. If it helps at all, I found that a VNC install worked fine.

Same issue with another DL380G7 server (firmwares all up to date).
VNC Install works with Rocky 9.0 iso, but doesn't work with Rocky 9.1, 9.2 and 9.4 isos (got another anaconda error, but was hurrying up and didn't save the logs :/ )

For those who want to install through VNC, here is the procedure:
- When installer Grub menu shows up, edit the Grub line by pressing <TAB> and add : inst.vnc inst.vncpassword=rocky9
(replace rocky9 with any password you want)
- Let it initialize until it shows : "Please manually connect your VNC viewer to XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:1 to begin the install."
- On a computer connected to the same network (normal network interface, not ILO), install any VNC client (tightVNC for exemple) and connect to the address from previous step
- Then you will be able to perform a normal graphical install
(obvious) NOTE: if you were to change the IP address during the install, your VNC connection will end and you will need to reconnect using the new IP (still on port 1 )
