Summary | 0007789: selinux cloud-init-hotplugd.socket not having permissions to fifo sockets
Description | Cloud-init has a hotplug feature which allows the instance interfaces to be reconfigured from the IMDS in response to newly added interfaces. Some time ago, this was reported to be broken on rocky linux 8.4. See the original report for more details. Apparently, this was never reported to the appropriate downstream. The original upstream report is here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-init/+bug/1936229 This issue was moved to the current bug tracker: https://github.com/canonical/cloud-init/issues/3890
Steps To Reproduce | Enable hotplug[1] in cloud-init then attach a new NIC. [1] https://docs.cloud-init.io/en/latest/reference/modules.html#install-hotplug
Additional Information | I haven't checked, but this likely affects newer versions of Rocky Linux, and possibly also Rocky Linux's upstreams as well.
