| Summary | 0012046: Rocky Linux Boot gives text full of squares on the console ( screen ) after the kernel update to Latest ( 4.18.0-553.104.1 ) | ||||
| Description | We updated the kernel version from kernel-4.18.0-553.97.1.el8_10 to kernel-4.18.0-553.104.1.el8_10. Then, Booting the rocky server gives white squares full on screen for few seconds. Please let us know , if this issue is known or tracked , if tracked please give more details on it . Thanks. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | 1) Install rocky 8.10 dvd.iso 2) Upgrade the kernel to the latest version [ kernel-4.18.0-553.104.1.el8_10. ] 3) Enable more debugging in grub command line parameters [ loglevel=7 systemd.show_status=1 systemd.log_level=debug plymouth.debug ignore_loglevel] 4) reboot the server with new kernel 5) you can now see white squares filled in full screen for few seconds during the start of the boot. | ||||
| Additional Information | This issue is seen after upgrading my kernel from kernel-4.18.0-553.97.1.el8_10 only. Downgrading to old kernel doesn't give this issue . | ||||
